Notice – SCAT (St. Charles Area Transit) System Changes

Effective Starting Wednesday, March 25, 2020

  • The I-70 Commuter Shuttle bus route is SUSPENDED until further notice
  • The City of St. Charles bus routes (Red, Orange, Green, and Blue) are SUSPENDED until further notice
  • The City will be implementing a Request-for-Transportation system for disabled residents of the City of St. Charles or City residents 60 years of age or older
  • The request-for-transportation system is dedicated to taking residents of the City of St. Charles that are disabled or over age 60 to the grocery store, doctor’s office, pharmacy, or other essential trip
  • Pick-ups and drop-offs will occur as close to residences and businesses as possible
  • There will be a dedicated operational time specifically devoted to trips to grocery stores from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, to take advantage of the special store hours implemented by the stores for at-risk individuals
  • The request-for-transportation normal hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Maximum capacity on the bus will be four (4) seated passengers plus one (1) wheelchair passenger to provide adequate space for social distancing
  • Normal SCAT bus fares will be waived for this service
  • Call (636) 949-3364 or email Public.Works@stcharlescitymo.gov to schedule a request for transportation prior to 3:00 p.m. the day preceding the requested trip
  • Trips will be scheduled and prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis
