Due to recent sub-freezing temperatures followed by warming conditions, our community lakes have developed unstable and hazardous ice conditions.
Thawing temperatures after extreme cold cause ice to weaken rapidly and unpredictably. Even if ice appears solid, it can be dangerously thin and unable to support weight.
🚫 For your safety, please stay OFF the ice at all times.
This includes:
- Walking on the ice
- Skating
- Playing or allowing children to play on the ice
- Any recreational activity on frozen lakes
Ice conditions can change quickly, and falling through the ice can result in serious injury or death.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping keep everyone safe during this weather transition. Please share this message with family members and guests, especially children.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the General Assembly.
Stay safe and thank you for your cooperation.
