The General Assembly Office received an email with a request from the City of St. Charles Public Works Department. It is as follows…
“We are having many issues with flushable wipes and the vacuum system. They are hard on a regular gravity setup, and are very hard on this vacuum sewage setup that we have in New Town. Please ask residents to dispose of them in a trash can. They should never be flushed down the toilet in any situation. Even wipes labeled as flushable should be thrown away.”
