All New Town lakes were treated with algaecide in the spring. Unfortunately, we used twice the amount of algaecide we used all last year in the first month of the season. Local sources for chemicals have not been able to obtain more.
Yesterday, we were able to find a new source for chemicals and have them on order. The chemicals will be applied as soon as they arrive.
Aquatic Control will be in New Town in the coming weeks to treat the lakes with additional chemicals to help control the algae bloom.
